Introducing the GLMA x Violet partnership for cultural competence education.

In this new collaboration, GLMA members gain free access to Violet's on-demand continuing education library.

GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality is the world’s oldest and largest association of LGBQ+ clinicians. Their mission of ensuring equality in health care for LGBTQ+ individuals and health care professionals aligns with Violet’s values of achieving health equity through inclusive care delivery and cultural competence education, and we are excited to announce they have launched a new partnership with us.

Through this collaboration, GLMA members will now have complimentary access to Violet's extensive on-demand continuing education library, which encompasses over 50 hours of cultural competence education, including extensive content dedicated to delivering care to LGBQ and TGNC communities. GLMA members can explore over 20 collections containing e-learnings, guides, patient audio diaries, and case vignettes which can be accessed through short microlearning sessions. Each Violet collection provides the necessary continuing education credits for clinicians to maintain their licenses.

Violet’s community-specific collections include an array of topics:

  • Infant feeding: identity centered lactation counseling
  • Preventative care
  • Hormone therapy
  • Writing support letters
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Mental health intakes
  • And more!

“Our two organizations share an abiding belief in the transformative power of education to shape the future of healthcare,” says Alex Sheldon, MA, GLMA Executive Director. “We are thrilled to now be able to provide on-demand access to accredited continuing education to all GLMA members, empowering them to deliver inclusive care and propel their careers forward. Through this landmark collaboration, GLMA's rich legacy of impact in health equity intersects with technology's boundless capabilities, charting a course towards a health care landscape that is more equitable, inclusive, and compassionate for all."

"As a gay man, it’s an honor to be partnering with GLMA to build health equity. The Violet team shares GLMA’s deep belief that all of us deserve access to inclusive health care and that every healthcare provider can contribute to building health equity by building their skills to deliver inclusive health care,” explains Gaurang Choksi, Violet Founder & CEO.
