They understand that patients of all backgrounds deserve a safe space where they can feel seen and heard. We’re helping Octave’s care delivery team credential and upskill cultural competence on Violet’s education platform.
Violet’s platform starts by allowing clinicians to benchmark their understanding of BIPOC, LGBQ, and TGNC patient identities and care needs. Based on their benchmarks, Violet provides personalized pathways to help providers upskill and improve their cultural competence on Violet’s e-learning platform. Then, providers may earn cultural competence benchmarks to display online. Eventually, this will allow patients to find clinicians most equipped to provide them with the care they need.
“Providing culturally sensitive care is one of our top priorities and part of how we define quality care,” said Golee Abrishami, PhD, Octave’s head of clinical care. “We know how important it is for our clients to feel safe and seen by their providers, and part of that involves ongoing training and education so our therapists can meet them where they are. We’re excited to partner with Violet to make this happen.”
By 2045, over half of Americans will be diverse with race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and more. That’s why Violet offers clinician education in BIPOC, LGBQ, and TGNC cultural understanding for better care delivery and outcomes.
